Nick Saban, who won six national titles at Alabama, has informed his team that he is retiring, sources told ESPN’s Chris Low on Wednesday.

Saban coached at Alabama for 17 seasons, ending with a loss to CFB National title winners Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Considered one of the greatest head coaches of all time finishes his career with 201 wins and a total of seven national titles (LSU – 2003, Alabama – 2009, 2011-12, 2015, 2017, 2020).
Before settling in the college coaching ranks Saban was the defensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns from 1991-94, and head coach of the Miami Dolphins in 2005-06.
Saban coached four Heisman Trophy winners while at Alabama — Mark Ingram II (2009), Derrick Henry (2015), DeVonta Smith (2020) and Bryce Young (2021) — and he holds a record having coached 49 first-round NFL Draft picks in his career.
