The opening week of the upcoming college football season promises excitement with a Saturday tripleheader on ABC, headlined by Texas A&M hosting Notre Dame in prime time. ESPN unveiled its standout matchups for Week 0 and Week 1 during its presentation to advertisers in New York on Tuesday.
On August 31, the spotlight will shine on Mike Elko as he leads Texas A&M as head coach for the first time. Elko, who previously served as defensive coordinator and safeties coach at Texas A&M from 2018-2021, boasts a track record that includes a successful stint at Duke, where he achieved a 16-9 record over two seasons. Notably, Elko’s coaching history also includes a role as defensive coordinator at Notre Dame in 2017.
Adding to the excitement, College GameDay will broadcast live from College Station, Texas, marking its return to the location for the first time since 2018.
