The Texas Longhorns (9-13, 3-6 Conf) hosted the Texas Tech Red Raiders (15-7, 3-6 Conf) for some college hoops at the Frank Erwin Center on Wednesday night, in an inner conference showdown. The Longhorns defeated the Red Raiders 62-58, and were lead by an outstanding performance from Freshman (F) Jarrett Allen. Allen turned in 19 PTS and 8 REB, going 8-11 from the floor. Sophomore (G) Eric Davis Jr. also provided the Longhorns some support with his range from the perimeter going 3-6 from downtown, and sinking a crucial 3-pointer with 28 seconds left on the clock. Davis went 6-9 from the field, finishing with 15 points.

Senior (F) Anthony Livingston had a solid performance for the Red Raiders with 14 PTS and 4 REB, but was harassed for most of the contest by Texas’ bigs Cleare and Allen. The Longhorns outshot the Red Raiders from the field and the charity stripe, going 24-52 (46.2% FG) 6-17 (35.3 %FT) compared to Texas Tech’s 21-59 (35.6% FG) 6-21 (28.6% FT). The Longhorns will travel to TCU on Saturday to take on the Horned Frogs in another Big 12 contest.
