Lake Travis Donates to Jasiel Favors

The Lake Travis High School football team and booster club has given a gift of $1,000 to the Stony Point football player whose neck was broken in a game on Sept. 2 in Round Rock.

Bob Brewer, president of the Lake Travis Booster Club, said the money will go to Jasiel Favors, who was paralyzed after sustaining a hit during a junior varsity game against Harker Heights.

Favors, 16, had neck surgery the following day at Seton Medical Center Williamson. He was transferred to Dell Children’s Medical Center for rehabilitation on Tuesday, his mother, Debra Favors, said.

“With that contribution, we expressed that the entire Lake Travis football community was praying for Jasiel and his family,” Brewer said.

Debra Favors said her son is expected to remain at Dell Children’s Hospital for about eight weeks before he is able to return to his home.
