Golden State drops San Antonio 122-105

OAKLAND, Calif. – Kevin Durant won the battle of Texas-Exes as the Golden State Warriors knocked off LaMarcus Aldridge and the San Antonio Spurs 122-105 Saturday night at Oracle Arena.

Six Golden State players, including all five starters, scored in double figures as the Warriors moved to 43-13 on the year and maintained their one-game lead in the Western Conference.

San Antonio jumped ahead early in the contest, leading 8-0 after two free throws from Aldridge. The Spurs then went on a 10-0 run to go ahead 33-21 with 1:58 left in the first quarter.

The Warriors got back into it with a 10-1 run to cut the lead to two when Klay Thompson nailed a 3-pointer. Thompson led all scorers with 25 points in the win for Golden State.

Draymond Green hit the final bucket of the first half to give the Warriors a 58-55 win at the break. Green played a pivotal role in the win for Golden State, finishing just two assists shy of a triple-double with 17 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds.

In the third, the Warriors were able to extend their lead to 14 points after Stephen Curry hit a layup with 9.1 seconds left to go up 91-75.

Golden State coasted in the fourth, leading by double digits in the entire quarter to grab a 17-point victory.

Thompson, Curry, Green, David West, Zaza Pachulia and Durant produced 25, 17, 17, 13, 12 and 10 points, respectively in a balanced attack for the Warriors. Golden State shot a phenomenal 56.5 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent from 3-point range.

The Spurs were led by Aldridge and Kyle Anderson who both scored 20 points in the loss. San Antonio went just 5-for-27 from downtown and are now 35-22 on the year, just 1.5 games ahead of Minnesota for third place in the Western Conference.

Both Golden State and San Antonio have one day off before their next game. The Warriors welcome Phoenix to Oakland at 9:30 p.m. while the Spurs travel to Utah to take on the Jazz at 8:00 p.m.
