               Austin Radio Network Business Manager

The Austin Radio Network has an immediate opening for a Business Manager. The Business Manager is responsible for the business and accounting functions of the group and the organization’s human resources processes. The Business Manager is a problem solver who works to overcome the obstacles that may prevent a department or the company from performing at a high level.

This position’s duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Accounting and Business Functions

  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities including the preparation of journal entries and general ledger account analysis and reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly invoicing
  • Manage day to day finances including accounts payable
  • Report monthly financial performance
  • Compile and calculate monthly sales commission statements
  • Prepare Payroll
  • Participate in the forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Oversee Traffic and Admin personnel
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Additional Functions

  • Manage Applicant Tracking System from job requisition to hire, including EEO procedures
  • Track and manage PTO
  • Maintain employee data
  • Act as liaison for Company  Benefits including Annual Open Enrollment and COBRA, and administer FMLA and Leaves of Absence
  • Maintain Employee Personnel files
  • Work with third party vendor in addressing unemployment claims/hearings
  • Maintain FCC public files
  • Annual reporting compliance (EE01 report); quarterly Business Conduct Statement compliance
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  •  Must have 5 Years’ plus experience in Broadcast Media
  • Business Administration Management and/or Accounting Degree
  • Knowledge of Radio/TV Traffic systems ( Marketron knowledge a plus)
  • Knowledge of CRM solution ( Efficio knowledge a plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, efficient organizational and time management skills, and an eye for detail
  • Proven ability to work with all employee and managements levels
  • Self-motivated and also work well in a team environment
  • Excellent experience in QuickBooks
  • Excellent experience in Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel , and
  • Familiarity with benefits and employment eligibility
  • Proven ability in managing employee issues and successfully resolving conflicts at the lower level
